Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions have created global warming and climate change, adversely affecting life and livelihoods around the world.
You can only manage what you can measure. In 2008, the Crystal Group joined the WWF Low Carbon Manufacturing Program to strengthen our internal management practices and establish an effective carbon inventory monitoring system.
We promote greener habits and practices among our employees and actively reward and recognize them for their sustainability efforts. In addition, to maximize our positive impact, we share and exchange best green practices with counterparts and business partners to drive environmental responsibility in the industry.
We have embedded carbon management into our day to day business by leveraging an enterprise-wide rigorous carbon accounting methodology. This has helped us reduce our carbon footprint and meet industry benchmarks for environmental performance.
Low Carbon Manufacturing
Our Pearl River Delta factories participate in WWF-Hong Kong’s 'Low Carbon Manufacturing Program (LCMP)' which has been endorsed by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) in the UK. LCMP practices are gradually being adopted by all our other factories across the region.
Low Carbon Office
As part of our low carbon strategy, we have always encouraged every one of our employees to adopt a carbon-neutral lifestyle, both at home and at work. Our senior executives are champions for the environment and act as role models for behavior change. Together, we have made substantial reductions in energy, paper and other resource consumption at the office level.
We joined the WWF Hong Kong 'Low-carbon Office Operation Program' ('LOOP') in 2009 and underwent our first assessment in 2010. We are currently implementing the recommended changes and new 'LOOP' measures to make our operations more environmentally friendly.
